Terms of Use
Effective 2 October 2026
About these Terms
This website and the client portal at jparcon.law/portal are owned and operated by JPARCON LAW OFFICE (“the firm”, “we”, “us”), a law practice in the Republic of the Philippines. These Terms govern your use of both. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
No attorney-client relationship
Reading this site, sending the consultation form, or booking a consultation does not create an attorney-client relationship. That relationship begins only when the firm agrees in writing to act for you and you and the firm have signed an engagement. Until then we are not acting for you.
Attorney-client privilege is narrower than the relationship itself. It applies only to a subject matter you discuss with a lawyer in a legal consultation, and to your matter once the firm is formally engaged to act for you. It does not apply to a booking on its own, or to legal information you read on this site. A confirmed appointment, and anything you take from these pages, is not privileged.
Where the privilege applies, it starts the first time you speak with a lawyer about your matter in a consultation. It holds whether or not you go on to hire the firm, and it survives the lawyer declining the case. For it to hold, the communication has to be intended to be private and kept confidential, whether it is a conversation, an email, a text message or a written document. And the lawyer has to be acting strictly as a lawyer, in a professional legal capacity, rather than as a friend or a business adviser.
Use of the site and client portal
The site is general information about the firm. Nothing on it is legal advice, and it is no substitute for advice about your own circumstances. If you have a legal problem, consult a lawyer.
The client portal is for the firm’s clients. Your sign-in details are personal to you: keep them confidential, and tell us at once if you think someone else has them. You agree not to try to reach any part of the portal, or any information in it, that is not yours.
Engagement is by a separate retainer
The terms of the legal work the firm does for you are set out in the engagement retainer you sign. The retainer governs the scope of the work, the fees, and how your matter is handled. If anything in these Terms conflicts with the retainer, the retainer governs.
Payments, fees and refunds
Where the firm has issued you an invoice, you can pay it through the client portal. Payments are processed by Xendit. You enter your payment details on Xendit’s own checkout page, and the firm does not receive or store your full card details.
Fees for legal work already performed are not refundable. Any unearned portion of an advance payment, and any duplicate or erroneous charge, is refunded in full.
To ask for a refund, email Jparcon.ibp@gmail.com with the invoice number. An approved refund is issued through Xendit to the original method of payment, and typically appears within 5-10 business days, depending on your bank or payment channel.
Intellectual property
The text, design and images on this site belong to the firm or are licensed to it, and may not be copied or reused without our written permission. The firm’s name and logo are the firm’s.
The documents you upload to the portal, and the information about your matter, remain yours.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The site is provided as it is. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we do not promise it will always be free of errors or interruptions, and we may change or withdraw it at any time.
To the extent Philippine law allows, the firm is not liable for loss arising from your use of the site or from relying on general information published on it. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Any dispute arising from them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Cebu City.
